Who is Tutankhamun?

Tutankhamun is one of the pharaohs of the eighteenth Egyptian dynasty in the history of ancient Egypt. His name in the ancient Egyptian language means "the living image of the god Amun", the chief deity of the pharaohs. Tut took over the rule of the country at the age of nine by a decision from his father, "Akhenaten" In a state of chaos due to religious differences, after his father tried to unite the gods of ancient Egypt in the form of the one God Sunday.

 The cause of Tutankhamun's death is a case of mystery by scientists and explorers, as many theories have emerged, was he a victim of malaria?


Or gangrene, the effect of a broken leg? Or run over by a cart? Perhaps he was assassinated because of the hole in the head? Archaeologist Zahi Hawass explained that the cause of Tutankhamun's death was a broken leg caused by inflammation and led to his death, and the hole in his head was due to mummification.

Many archaeologists believed that the Valley of the Kings had revealed all its secrets, however, Carter had a hunch that there was still more to find, and he was searching for the tomb of a mysterious king of the Eighteenth Dynasty, and he found Tutankhamun and the boy king became the most famous pharaoh in Egypt .

Carter said: "After removing the debris from the stairs we revealed the upper part of the closed entrance, and above them were the seals of the royal tomb, a sight that made my heart pound with joy, and I sent a telegram to the wealthy Lord Carnarvon saying at last we were able to discover a wonderful in the valley a wonderful tomb with seals intact."



Treasures of Tutankhamun

 The largest and perhaps most famous treasure now was the King's Death Mask, which contained more than 20 pounds of gold, and many other relics were buried with it to ensure he would remain strong and wealthy in the afterlife, including a leopard-skin cloak, four game boards, and six chariots 30 wine jars and 46 bows.

It held many tours and exhibitions around the world to present the treasures of Tutankhamun in the sixties until the seventies to get to know the young king and highlight the strength of the Pharaonic civilization, and King Tut did more than all his companions of the Pharaohs, which is to promote modern study and interest in ancient Egyptian history.
