The tomb of the Egyptian nobleman Yuya and his wife Toya in the Valley of the Kings

The tomb of the Egyptian nobleman Yuya and his wife Toya in the Valley of the Kings

The moment of the discovery and exhumation of Yuya's sarcophagus in 1905 from his tomb in the Valley of the Kings, west bank of Luxor, by an Italian excavation mission that was working in the Valley of the Kings and Deir el-Medina.

The importance of this tomb stems from the fact that it is the tomb of a noble and not of a king, and the thieves did not reach it, so it remained with all its riches left to us by that great Yuya and his wife Toya.

Yuya's mummy was found inside three coffins, one inside the other, in addition to the sarcophagus of his wife, Toya, with an exquisite mask on it, a number of statues, pots, wooden chairs, two beds and a chariot, all of which are preserved in the Egyptian Museum.
